Ingredients 1 batch raised dough (Recipe in this collection) Sugar Cinnamon Raisins Butter
Instructions Mix cinnamon and sugar. Roll about 2 cups of raised dough out into thin circle. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Sprinkle with raisins. Dot with butter. Roll up like jelly roll and form into circle. Transfer to lightly greased baking sheet. With a scissor, make cuts in roll from outer edge almost to hole in center of the ring. Take each cut section and carefully twist it so that the cut side is turned upwards. Bake at 350 about 30 minutes til nicely browned. Cool and glaze with a glaze of confectioner's sugar and milk. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and/or candied maraschino cherries.
Description These look so professional.
Notes My mother-in-law taught me this technique to make these beautiful coffee rings that look like they came from the bakery but taste so-o-o-o much better. I have also just rolled the dough with any filling, sliced down the roll in 1 1/2" slices, put cut side up in muffin tins and baked. Great. I use the same dough to make Hamentashcen.
