Cabbage Soup

Ingredients 2 1/2 Pounds Flunken or Chuck Beef Bones- 2 or 3 1 Head Cabbage, sliced 1 Large Onion, sliced 6 Ounces Tomato Paste Lemon Juice - About 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar - About 1 Cup Salt and Pepper


Instructions 1. Place meat in soup pot and cover with water. Add salt and pepper, brown sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and skim. Reduce heat to a simmer. 2. Add sliced cabbage and onion and tomato paste. Cook at a simmer for 3-4 hours. 3. Before serving, remove the meat and cut into cubes and return it to the soup.


Description Wonderful for a cold night


Notes Like most soup recipes, at least the ones that I use, there are few precise measurements and need to be made to your taste. After the first time that you make it, you will have a good idea of the amount of sugar and lemon that you like. My family has always liked a strong sweet and sour taste so I use about the amounts listed in the recipe. I suggest that you start with small amounts and keep adding until you are satisfied.
