Ingredients 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup sour cream 2 cups flour 5 teaspoons salt Apricot preserves, large jar Shredded coconut, As desired Golden raisins, As desired
Instructions 1. Cream butter and sour cream in mixer. Add flour and salt. Mix well. Make into a ball and wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate overnight. 2. Cut the dough in 4 parts, using one at a time and keeping the others refrigerated. Roll each on well floured wax paper to about 10" x 15" using floured rolling pin. Once rolled, remove as much flour as possible with a brush. 3. Cover each generously with filling ingredients. Roll from 15" side, again removing as much flour as possible. Pinch ends and lift with spatulas to a greased cookie sheet. 4. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes until dough is golden and bottom has hard crust. 5. Remove from pan to cool. Cut into 1-1 1/2' pieces. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.
Description From Sumner's sister Marilyn who got it from their mother.
Notes This is absolutely wonderful, but the rolling is difficult. It needs lots of flour and be sure to brush off as much as possible. It is well worth the effort.
