Cream Cheese Brownies


Ingredients 1 package 4 oz. German Sweet Chocolate 3 tablespoons butter CHEESE LAYER 3 ounces cream cheese 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup sugar 1 egg 1 tablespoon flour 1/2 teaspoon vanilla CHOCOLATE LAYER 2 eggs 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup flour, unsifted 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon almond extract 1/2 cup Pecans, chopped


Instructions Melt chocolate with 3 T. butter over very low heat or in microwave. Stir; then cool. To make cheese layer, cream cheese with 2 T. butter. Gradually add 1/4 c, sugar, creaming until fluffy. Blend in one egg, flour, and 1/2 t. vanilla. To make chocolate layer, beat 2 eggs until light colored. Slowly add 3/4 c sugar; beat until thickened. Add 1/2 t baking powder, salt and 1/2 c flour. Blend in chocolate mixture, 1 t vanilla, almond extract and nuts. Spread half the chocolate mixture in greased 8 or 9" square pan. Top with cheese mixture. Spoon remaining chocolate batter over top. Zigzag knife thru batter to marbelize. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes.
